Stan Steadman was born with the gift of gab. After a stint in the Air Force in the 1950's and a successful sales career in office equipment while living in Texas, Stan returned home to Woodstock. Bringing his father on board, a service technician for a typewriter company in Rockford, the then named Stan's Office Machines opened their doors on June 1, 1950. Stan, known for his charm and outgoing personality quickly grew his business as a distributor for the Victor franchise and the Royal Typewriter franchise. Selling and servicing adding machines, cash registers and typewriters. Stan always took pride in the fact that his business offered customers the best and most advanced in technology. That concept is one thing that hasn't changed for Stan Steadman. After building the business for almost twenty years, Stans oldest son Mark, with a college background in Mechanical Engineering joined his dad in business. Like his father, Mark hit the phones and the pavement, He smiles and says, "Back then I made a dollar a call. My dad was always looking for new ideas and new products. Stan's Office Machines always stayed on the cutting edge of technology. We were one of the first to sell memory typewriters, electronic cash registers and even the thermal fax machines. Copiers were added and before you knew it, the business was booming." In 1986 Tony, Mark's younger brother, an Information Systems specialist, joined the team taking the company in yet another direction. He automated the business and took that skill and knowledge to their customers. Now called Stan's Office Technologies, the Steadman family has made quite a name for themselves in the industry. For forty-four years the Steadman family has provided cutting edge technology to their customers. Stan's Office Technologies is a hybrid company integrating traditional office machines with Internet and local area network infrastructures. Exceeding customer expectations' remains the focus of over 30 dedicated employees. Full-time, certified network technicians provide fast response time. Services range from printer/copier repair to wireless Internet connections. Stan's Office Technologies combines its world class service with state-of-the-art technolgy from Intel, Microsoft, Cisco, Konica Minolta and Ricoh.
