Stan's cares . . . for our community: Year after year Stan's Office Technologies gives back to the communities that it serves. This year Stan's will contribute more than $10,000 to area outreach programs, schools, health care, and charitable service organizations. "Just as people who make Stan's a cut above our competition, our success should be shared by giving back to the communities where our customers and employees live, work and play." Mark Steadman, President Stan's cares . . . for our environment: From front door to back door, Stan's Office Technologies is environmentally conscious. Paper, plastic and aluminum are separated and recycled though out the facility. Before we offer solutions to our customers, Stan's Office Technologies evaluates all products for environmental friendliness. We look for certifications such as Energy Star, and the German Blue Angel Mark and Recyclable Parts. We also research consumable supplies and avoid toxic components whenever possible. Trade-in copiers, printers, computers and fax machines, for disposal, are stripped of hazardous parts or chemicals, then sent to metal/plastic recyclers for further processing. The Environment and Minolta As an EPA Energy Star partner and a Blue Angel Mark recipient, Minolta has developed products and technologies that address key issues, such as the use of organic photoconductors, toner recycling, low operation noise levels, low ozone emission, and support of using recycled paper. Toner is Recycled in many of our printing solutions, eliminating the waste toner bottle. Paper dust, a common problem when toner is recycled, is addressed with the toner recycling mechanism. When toner lumps are present due to dust and toner forming together, the mechanism prevents lumps above a certain size from being used in the copy process. The toner recycling system contributes to an overall cleaner system and environment. Noise Reduction has been achieved by implementing CS - Technology. Decreasing the number of motor drive systems used and synchronizing copier and accessory function, has deceased the noise level between 1 db maximum. This helps reduce overall noise levels in today's crowded offices. Energy Star Compliance is achieved in all Minolta copiers. These government standards require specific energy consumption levels, automatic shut-off features, and duplex capabilities for high volume levels. Lower Ozone Emission was incorporated into the CSPro Series far surpassing guidelines dictated by the Blue Angel Mark of Germany. Safer consumables have been a goal of Minolta. Minolta uses only premium grades of high-purity carbon black as a base of its toner products - tested to be non-hazardous. Standards have been met to allow use of our recycled paper in all black and white copier/printers. Component design using fire-retardant plastics is used in accordance with manufacturer's standards. Many of the major plastic components are intended to be recycled. All of Minolta's copier employ organic photoconductors. These standards have been met without sacrificing copier performance nor increasing operation or manufacturing costs. Minolta has implemented needlepoint charging, replacing conventional charge wires. This decreases the amount of ozone generated during the charge down to one-fourth of the conventional method. |
